POOL KINARE: There's still some time to go for the fashion week in Delhi, but that doesn't mean that fash bashes haven't started in the city already. Satya Paul too recently organised a fashion show and a cocktail party to launch its cruise wear line.
And since no fashion event these days is complete without corporate partners, it saw stalwarts like American Express and Royal Caribbean International extending their support towards this evening of glamour at the Leela Kempinski, Gurgaon. The show was held next to the pool, and while the guests wondered about the models comfort in walking around it, the venue seemed perfect as the theme of the collection was 'Jewels of the Sea'.
JEWEL TALK: Satya Paul is known for innovation, and this time the collection drew inspiration from the myriad marine life objects – the precious life underwater. The fun, flirty and glamourous line used ornate motifs as embellishments to enhance the garments that included a range of comfortable and dressy tops, sundresses, cocktail dresses, kaftans, swimwear and more, catering to the fabulous cruise getaways. Speaking to us on the occasion, Jyoti Narula, MD, Genesis Colors Pvt Ltd, who also heads Satya Paul, said, "We are expanding the offerings from the brand of Satya Paul in the coming season, and this includes a complete bridal studio, customised blouses, signature bags, etc. While we retain the iconic sari as one of our strengths, we are working on making the brand more relevant for the urban Indian woman too."
