Electric biking is a relatively new concept, but one that has taken off in popularity due to its health benefits,
Eco-friendliness and accessibility to people of all ages. Not only is it a fast, fun and easy way to travel if you're young, but electric bikes are ideal for baby boomers, who are looking to get back in to riding, but may have reduced strength or stamina for a regular bike.

ReefBikes are hoping to introduce the pleasure of cycling back into the wider community through electric bikes. Electric bikes have a motor assist so they are perfect for those daunting uphills or as a way to relax if you're feeling a little fatigued...

The passionate bikers and businessmen introducing electric biking, George Kazacos and Jovan Vucetic, came up with the concept after seeing a need for a more green and eco-friendly mode of transportation in Sydney.

"Electric bikes are the fastest growing sector in the worldwide bike market,” says Mr. Kazacos. “As yet Australia lags behind many of our European neighbours and in the Far East the market is massive. China has now about 100 million e-bikes on the road, four times more than the number of cars driven."

Electric bikes are a fabulous response to the need to reduce congestion, save money and give people at all levels of fitness, age and ability the opportunity to get back into the enjoyment of cycling. They are designed to be accessible to everyone – young and old.

“I couldn’t believe how easy it was to ride and how much it would benefit those who were not in the best of shape, baby boomers or had some physical disabilities,” says Mr. Vucetic. “They are also great for everyone else – a fun and easy way to commute to work or as a leisure activity”.

The popularity of electric bikes is increasing by the day. Not ony do they have novel appeal, but electric bikes are an excellent way of combating high fuel prices, environment sensitivity and obesity.

The local Government in Sydney, where Reef Bikes is based, is investing $76 million in funding over the next four years in bike path infrastructure. Reef Bikes is in alignment with the City of Sydney’s 2030 strategy. Their aim is to get more people cycling to justify the cost of this infrastructure and create a more sustainable Sydney transport system. Reef Bikes have a huge part to play here in bringing cycling to the masses and making it more mainstream.

So enjoy life, and help the environment by riding electric with Reef Bikes.
